Light is always the subject in portraiture

I shot the below portraits using a Canon DSLR and a 50mm prime lens. I use a simple technique to boost depth and separate my subject from the background in Photoshop working with masking layers, using “levels” to create tonal contrast differentials, “curves” for complementary color palettes, and color saturation differentials.
